The 64th Sanibel Symposium is the largest annual meeting focused on the quantum theory of atoms, molecules, and materials took place from February 23 to February 28, 2025 in St. Augustine Beach, FL. There Professor Whitfield delivered a talk “Symmetry Considerations in Quantum Computational Chemistry” emphasizing our group’s work on symmetry in quantum computing starting from our earliest work (https://arxiv.org/abs/0905.0887), to spin-free quantum chemistry on quantum computers (https://arxiv.org/abs/1306.1147), and tapering qubits based on point group symmetries (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1910.14644).
